There are many widowed and solitary elderly people living in Songbaigang community. Facing this special group, the "Five Long" team took the initiative to become caring people for the elderly living alone. Du Apo, an elderly person who lives alone in Songbai New Village, has no children under her knees. The grid leader of the community started to be Du Apo’s "children", not only caring for her in her daily life, but also cooperating with doctors in community health service centers to carry out on-site service, measuring blood sugar and blood pressure for Du Apo free of charge, and using the policy of benefiting the people to establish a health file for Du Apo, and providing family doctor-style signing service, so that Du Apo no longer has to worry about seeing a doctor.

The "Five Long" team insists on daily patrol, frequent visits, timely notes, handy work and real-time transmission, and quickly sends the collected clues of social conditions and public opinion to the group, so as to resolve contradictions in the bud and solve problems in the initial stage.

According to the statistics of Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Statistics, the registered population of Baiyun District is only 943,600, while the permanent population is as high as 2,441,900, which makes Baiyun District rank first among all districts in Guangzhou. The influx of foreign population makes it urgent for Baiyun District to realize fine urban management. Since the beginning of this year, the Political and Legal Committee of Baiyun District Committee has taken the lead in optimizing and upgrading grid service management in the whole region.
In April this year, the Political and Legal Committee of Baiyun District Committee, together with the Baiyun Branch of the Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Bureau and other departments, began to re-divide the basic grids of towns and streets in the whole region, using the latest and most authoritative maps and special vector drawing software to completely eliminate the unreasonable grids of towns and streets.
After adjustment, 18 streets in 4 towns in the whole district are divided into 3075 basic grids, and 3215 basic grid members perform their respective duties. After the previous grid foundation work was consolidated, Baiyun District took advantage of the trend to improve the grid management pattern, and promoted the grid "five long" micro-governance model in the whole region, giving full play to social forces and realizing "small things don’t leave the grid, big things don’t leave the community". At present, on the basis of 3075 grids and 3215 grid members, the whole region has set up a grid "five long" team of 16595 people.
In order to do a good job in grid management, leaders at all levels attach great importance to it. From January to August this year, a total of 384,779 grid events were reported in Baiyun District, and 384,115 were settled, with a settlement rate of 99.8%. Correspondingly, the residents’ sense of acquisition, happiness and security in Baiyun District have improved significantly. As of August 30, the police situation of Baiyun Branch decreased by 11% year-on-year; The police situation of the two robberies decreased by 57.8% year-on-year; Burglary alarm decreased by 50.6% year-on-year.
