Recently, Equation Leopard 8 was officially unveiled. The new car was built based on BYD’s new energy DMO off-road platform, positioning medium and large off-road SUVs. The new car will be unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show on April 25, 2024, and will be officially listed in the second half of 2024. It is estimated that the new car will be priced at 500,000 yuan.

In terms of appearance, Equation Leopard 8 will continue the design concept of SUPER 8 concept car, and adopt the brand-new design language of Equation Leopard to present a fierce and dynamic appearance. The front face adopts a box-shaped bee-eye-shaped front grille, with penetrating light strips and headlight groups, and the overall image is very hard-core and domineering.

Body size, the length, width and height of the new car are about 5200mm (with spare tire), 2000mm wide, 1900mm high and 2920mm wheelbase. It locates medium and large SUVs and provides 6-seat and 7-seat layouts. The body lines are square and tough, with wide wheel eyebrows and ultra-high ground clearance, showing strong off-road ability and ability to get rid of difficulties.

The design of the rear of the car adopts a wrap-around spare tire cover, which is inspired by the star ring and has high recognition.

In terms of interior design, although it has not been exposed, it is expected to adopt a design style similar to Leopard 5. The center console may be equipped with a full LCD dashboard and an oversized central control screen, as well as the design layout of the co-pilot touch screen and AR-HUD, as well as the Filink intelligent cockpit system.

In terms of power, Equation Leopard 8 will be built based on BYD’s new energy DMO off-road platform. The new car will be equipped with a 2.0T high-power engine, a Yunqi -P active hydraulic body control system, a front and rear differential lock, an electric middle lock and a high-order intelligent driving assistance system of the Eye of God. As for the battery, it will be equipped with a double-layer Ferrous lithium phosphate blade battery pack.
